True reworks management structure

True Corporation's latest reshuffle of its co-presidents follows management's restructuring of its succession plan earlier this year.

Suphachai Chearavanont, chairman of True's executive committee, said the company's board of directors on Dec 15 resolved to appoint Kittinut Tikawan as co-president for commercial operations, replacing Vichaow Rakphongphairoj, who is now co-president of operations.

Adhiruth Thothaveesansuk moves from co-president for operations to vice-chairman of True's executive committee and vice-chairman of the executive committee for e-business.

All appointments are effective from Dec 26.

Mr Suphachai said the moves are in line with the restructuring as the company has experienced growth in network technology, customer services, operations, revenue and subscriber base, significantly surpassing the industry's rates.

Mr Kittinut has been with True for 11 years, working as executive assistant to the chairman of the executive committee and previously group chief commercial officer responsible for developing the True brand for smartphones and the 4G network.

Under the new position, Mr Kittinut will be in charge of commercial operations of mobile, broadband, pay TV, convergence and regional and customer service operations.

Mr Vichaow will be responsible for managing networks, information technology, content and media as well as other support operations.

A source in True Corp said Mr Kittinut is considered a possible successor under the restructuring.

Mr Suphachai said management had prepared for the restructure for years.
