Beta Energy Solution joins "SETA 2018": showcasing NMC Lithium-ion battery technology

Beta Energy Solution Co., Ltd., a prominent Thai manufacturer and distributor of Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) oxide Li-ion battery cells is set to attend and cosponsor "Sustainable Energy Technology Asia -- SETA 2018", Asia’s major energy event, during 21-23 March 2018, at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bang Na. The company will cease the opportunity to showcase its latest advances and innovations in battery and energy storage technology.

“Alternative Energy” is any energy source that is an alternative to conventional fossil fuel and natural gas which are ever decreasing in quantity while ever increasing in price,” said Monthiwa Witthayakomollert, Beta Energy Solution Deputy Managing Director.

“Alternative energy sources widely used these days include solar, wind and biomass power. Thailand is one of a major countries in Asia giving utmost importance to alternative energy concerns ,as can be seen by the Ministry of Energy’s collaborations with over 50 associated agencies to exhibit at ‘Sustainable Energy Technology Asia -- SETA 2018’, the mega energy event, taking place at BITEC Bang Na from 21-23 March 2018.”

Beta Energy Solution is the first Thai NMC Li-ion battery cell manufacturer. The company was founded by Dr. Visit Cochasit, a veteran specialist working in the field of energy and electricity. Today the company’s CEO, Dr. Visit Cochasit  has accumulated extensive experience in transformer manufacturing process and transmission line and substation construction.

The founding of Beta Energy Solution represents a branching out of the business and presenting Li-ion battery cells as an effective new tool for energy and electricity industries. Its main selling points are its capability of storing more power while being lighter and taking less time to recharge than any other storage medium.

“Beta Energy Solution is co-sponsoring SETA 2018, where it will showcase its latest battery technologies and innovations specifically tuned for Thai usage scenarios,” added the deputy managing director.

“They include an Off-Grid system for agriculture that generates sufficient electricity for a full day of consumption via a combination of solar panels and batteries. This arrangement doesn’t require any power supplied by the Provincial Electricity Authority or Metropolitan Electricity Authority. Nor does it need any Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) crop spraying. Rather it is equipped with NMC Li-ion batteries that are researched and developed by Beta Energy Solution to be used in place of conventional batteries made from Lithium Iron Phosphate. This results in a lighter UAV, with more space to store chemical substances used in crop spraying while being capable of flying farther and for longer.”

“SETA 2018 focuses on such pressing matters as sustainable energy, energy security, and renewable energy, all of which are directly related to applied use of battery cells. For example, in a Micro Grid or Smart Grid energy system, the battery of whichever type will be used both to store and supply electricity generated from an alternative energy source that is unstable, be it wind, solar or biomass power.”

“As in generating electricity using solar panels, the process must entirely be done during daytime with a clear sky. Any excess of energy generated is then stored in a battery, ready to be consumed during production downtimes. Using batteries in this way achieves more synchronised and stable power generation from alternate energy sources.”
