Baidu Access, the ad management company under Chinese internet giant Baidu, has joined hands with TCC Network Technology and TCC Business Centre to help Thai entrepreneurs enter the Chinese market effectively.

The exclusive partnership between Baidu Access and TCC Network Technology is expected to increase TCC membership and help Thai small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) be successful in the Chinese market.

Jitti Tangsithpakdi, president of TCC Network Technology, said Chinese trade with Thailand has grown for five years, making Thailand the No.3 trade partner for China in Asean last year. The international trade value between Thailand and China was US$73.7 billion (2.41 trillion baht), growth of 11.9% growth compared with 2016.

Hua Xie, chief executive of TCC Business Centre, said the partnership offers total marketing solutions to Thai companies, for both offline and online, including after-sales service and consulting.

He said TCC's top tier members such as Bangkok Bank, Thai Union Frozen and many more will also be granted free-of-charge business consulting services.

Thai SMEs and TCC's members can benefit from Baidu Access by establishing offices in China, Chinese-Thai and Thai-Chinese translation, business incubation, managing business matching, legal consulting, marketing survey.

"The move is aimed at supporting the Thai government's move to stimulate SMEs while pushing Thai entrepreneurs to be more successful in the Chinese market in the long term," Mr Hua said.

The Chinese market is very challenging for Thai entrepreneurs because while Chinese people have considerable spending power, lots of Thai SMEs are unsuccessful because they do not have enough know-how and language specialists to penetrate the market effectively, he said.

Mr Hua said placing products on popular platforms such as Tmall or JD.com is not enough as Thai SMEs need to understand every aspects of Chinese market because the market is very sensitive relative to other countries.

According to Baidu Access, Baidu has secured the world's largest database and this will help Thai SMEs run effective marketing plans when entering the Chinese market with its big data analytics.

TCC and Baidu Access aim to attract more than 500 existing TCC members and many independent Thai SMEs by this year, to push Baidu Access to grow more than 50% in revenue and exposure.
