IoD names new top dog

The board of directors of the Thai Institute of Directors Association (IoD) has appointed Kulvech Janvatanavit its new director, replacing Bandit Nijataworn, whose term ended.

The new posting was effective Dec 1.

Mr Kulvech joined IoD in 2014 and recently served as principal project adviser for the Anti-Corruption Initiative project.

He holds several key positions in organisations, such as board member for the Financial Institutions Policy Committee of the Bank of Thailand and for the Stock Exchange of Thailand Sustainability Awards. Previously, he was partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers FAS, a global consulting firm.

"The board of IoD is confident in Mr Kulvech's knowledge, ability, experience and commitment, and that he will support the creation of a sustainable ecosystem for the Thai business sector and develop the IoD into an internationally recognised institution of excellence in the region," said Prasan Chuaphanich, chairman of the board.

Mr Kulvech graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's in business administration. He also received a master's in real estate development from MIT in the US.
