To match the awe - inspiring costumes, awe-inspiring prizes were bestowed upon the winner.

Miss Songkhla won a house, a car, one million baht in cash as well as a master's degree and PhD scholarship to Bangkok Thonburi University.

Miss Ratchaburi, Miss Singburi, Miss Chonburi and Miss Petchburi all got an honourable mention.

Miss Roi Et's buffalo costume certainly wowed the audience, transforming the much- revered agricultural animal which once plowed the rice fields of Thailand before the motorised plough or Kwai Lek, into a fashion star.

Miss Nakhon Ratchasima transformed the folk hero Thao Suranari (or Grandma Moh), also an important statue at the center of the city, into a beautiful warrior queen.

Miss Bangkok wore much more conservative traditional attire dating from the early days of Bangkok in the 1700s.
