Heartthrob actor Mario Maurer has reached agreement with a taxi driver who used a slingshot to break a side window on his Porsche during a road-rage incident in Bangkok’s Ratchathewi district.

Nobody was injured in the incident, in Pratunam area on Monday evening.

Talks between Mario, 29, and taxi driver Udon Sutthipon, 37, ended amicably with the actor deciding not to take legal action against the cabbie. The two men shook hands at Phaya Thai police station, Thai media reported on Tuesday.

However, police pressed two counts against Mr Udon - causing damage to property and attempted assault.

The actor-cum-model and the driver argued noisily while repeatedly overtaking each other on the road around 5.30pm on Monday.

Police were called and reported finding a black Porsche belonging to the actor parked on the side of the road, with a broken driver's window. Nearby was a parked yellow taxi, with the driver's side window also broken. The two men were waiting at the scene.

Mr Udon told police he had been travelling along Rama VI Road, intending to turn right into Phetchaburi Road. As he was approaching Urupong intersection the black Porsche suddenly overtook his vehicle. This upset him and he and the other driver exchanged words and kept overtaking each other along the road, according to media reports.

On arriving at Pratunam intersection, Mr Udon said, he angrily fired a slingshot at the Porsche from his cab.  

Mario then pulled over and parked along Prachaprarop Road.  Police called to the scene took the two men to Phaya Thai police station for questioning.
