Official description

The first and only full, not-for-profit IB World School in Thailand, NIST International School was established in 1992 with the support of the United Nations. The school welcomes over 1,500 students of over 50 nationalities and provides all three International Baccalaureate programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). NIST is governed by the NIST International School Foundation and is accredited through the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
Recognized worldwide for its progressive approach, the IB programmes provide students with critical 21st century skills. In addition to its rigorous academics, NIST provides students with an expansive World Languages Programme and more than 300 extra-curricular activities. With its graduates attending the best universities in the world and going on to become community leaders, NIST International School is recognized as one of Asia’s leading learning institutions.

NIST International School is an international school located in Watthana District, Bangkok, Thailand. It was established in 1992 with support and guidance from the Bangkok-based branch of the United Nations. A full IB World School, NIST welcomes over 1,500 students of over 50 nationalities. As one of the only not-for-profit international schools in Thailand, it is governed by the parent-elected NIST International School Foundation.

NIST is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) since 1998 and the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA). It was the first school in Thailand to receive triple accreditation. Additionally, NIST is a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools, the International Schools Association of Thailand.

Several organizations and programs are also based on NIST's campus, including the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York master's in education program; the JUMP! Foundation's Global Leadership Center; and Top Flight Basketball Academy, run by ex-NBA player Ike Nwankwo.

NIST's campus is located in downtown Bangkok near Asok BTS Station, one of Bangkok's commercial hubs.
