19,742 new Covid cases, 70 deaths Tuesday

The country registered 70 more Covid-19 fatalities and 19,742 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Tuesday morning.

There were 19,690 local cases and 52 imported ones.

On Monday, 24,125 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus while 221,436 others were receiving treatment.

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 3,226,697 Covid-19 cases, including 1,003,262 this year, with 2,981,413 complete recoveries to date.

The death toll stood at 23,848 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 2,150 so far this year.
