The Irrigation Department has installed more pumps to speed up the draining of floodwater from around Bangkok into the sea.

Two more hydroflow pumps had been installed at the Nang Hong water pumping station in Samut Prakan, in addition to the six pumps sent there last week.

In Chachoengsao, which takes water from Bangkok's Lat Krabang district, two hydroflow pumps had been installed in Muang district.

In Nakhon Nayok, 12 pumps had been installed. The additional pumps were to drain water from the lower Khlong Hok canal, which has taken water from inner Bangkok and Pathum Thani, into the Nakhon Nayok river. This would help reduce the volume of water running past Bangkok and reduce flooding in Pathum Thani's low-lying areas.

The Irrigation Department would continue to provide help to areas affected by flooding until the situation returns to normal, or the end of the rainy season.
