The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra will explore three entirely different works that share the title "symphony" during the "Three Symphonies" concert at Mahidol University's Prince Mahidol Hall, Salaya campus on Friday July 12 at 7pm and Saturday July 13 at 4pm.

The repertoire will feature Sinfonia Ayutthaya, a musical reminiscent of the Kingdom's once thriving upriver capital. It was penned by Prof Dr Narongrit Dhamabutra, one of the most respected Thai composers whose works have been performed regularly in the US, Europe, Asian and Australia.

Set to navigate the virtuosic passages in Edouard Lalo's unique and colourful orchestral hybrid, Symphonie Español, will be Akkrawat Srinarong, a charismatic young violinist, conductor, songwriter, producer, educator and festival creator who has earned an international recognition for his passion towards connecting music to a wider audience.

The concert will conclude with the powerful and evocative Symphony No.5 In E Minor, Op 64 that earned Tchaikovsky a name as one of the Romantic era's finest composers.

Conducting the TPO will be guest maestro Pamornpan Komolpamorn, who won first prize in conducting from The American Prize competition. She received a doctoral degree in conducting at the University of Texas at Austin and has conducted wind bands, orchestras and chamber ensembles across the world.
