Who will be the next Miss Thailand World?

Pageant season continues, and now it's time for Miss Thailand World 2019 to take centre stage as it prepares to crown a shiny new winner this week.

Thursday night, the preliminary round will see all 24 contestants on the runway in their evening gowns. There will be performances by five contestants who are dominating the talent show. Different awards will be announced for beauty queens with the best talent, voluntary spirit, speech, athletic skills, and more. We will learn of the contestants who will get a fast-track pass straight to the Final 12 round. A new pink-sapphire crown will also be unveiled at the event.

On Saturday, the ladies will battle it all out for the last time where eventually a winner will be determined. She will be crowned by Nicolene Pichapa Limsnukan, last year's winner, and first runner-up and Continental Queen of Asia of Miss World 2018. The winning queen will go on to compete and represent Thailand at Miss World 2019, which will be held at Excel Arena in London at the end of this year.

The announcement to move the competition back to the UK was made early this month and became a surprise to all as it was previously set to take place in Thailand. Instead, Miss World 2019 will take its 130 contestants home to where the pageant originated. A three-week festival is planned, starting from Nov 20 and will conclude with a final round on Dec 14.

It was also announced that the competition will be held in Thailand next year instead, which will see a grand celebration for Miss World's 70th year.

Miss World was created in the UK in 1951 and is the oldest running international beauty pageant. Its motto is "Beauty With A Purpose", which is also the name of its non-profit organisation that raises funds for local and international organisations to aid disadvantaged children. Julia Morley is the pageant's current chairman and CEO.

Miss Thailand World 2019 contest will take place at the Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. The preliminary round will be on Aug 1 at 7pm, and the final round on Aug 3 at 8.30pm. Tickets are available from thaiticketmajor.com. For more information, visit missthailandworld.net.
