If you're tired of the standard R&B and hip-hop fare, and looking for something a little different, you should check out Jordan Rakei. The multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer will be in town for "JAMnight Live! With Jordan Rakei" on Aug 27 as part of his first world tour, promoting the release of his third album, Origin.

Known for his ability to effortlessly blend pop, soul, jazz, R&B and hip-hop, the New Zealand-born Australia-raised artist started out by releasing tracks on Bandcamp. Moving to London in 2015, he met many like-minded musicians, which resulted in collaborations with artists such as Tom Misch, FKJ and Nightmares On Wax.

He signed with London-based independent record label Ninja Tune in 2017, and released his second album, Wallflower, later that year. It spawned the hit singles Eye To Eye and Sorceress. Since then, Rakei's reputation as a virtuoso singer-songwriter and live performer has spread, helping him reach a global audience.

Rakei arrives in Thailand on the back of recent sold-out tours in the US and Australia, as well as performances at major festivals, including Pitchfork Paris, Glastonbury and BBC Biggest Weekend. His Bangkok show, hosted by Have You Heard? and Jameson Thailand, takes place this Tuesday night at Rockademy (Sukhumvit 26), and promises to be a very special show. Don't miss it.

Tickets are 1,200 and 1,500, available at ticketmelon.com/hyhbkk/jordanrakei.
