Chopard expresses its raison d'être in the tagline, "The Artisan Of Emotions Since 1860", in crafting fine watches and jewellery.

Until this Thursday, its artisans are in Bangkok to share their passion and show their craftsmanship in an exhibition at Hall of Fame, Siam Paragon.

The "Meet Our Artisans" exhibition is a partnership between the Swiss maison and luxury retailer S.T. Diamond Design.

The brand's roots in haute horologerie dates back to 1860 when Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded his workshop in Sonvilier, a farming village in the Swiss Jura mountains. Today, its watchmaking is carried out at a manufacture in Fleurier and workshop in Geneva.

The jewellery atelier is located within the headquarters in Meyrin, outside Geneva.

Sketches are given to artisanal draughtsmen, who refine the new design through gouache painting that involves shading and a delicate wash painting technique.

Jewellery model artisans then transform the painting into a three-dimensional construction, whether in wax or metal, and refine it into a prototype set with non-precious stones in order to create a realistic appearance.

Chopard's jewellery and watches sparkle through the mastery of gemsetters, who use various techniques to place precious stones onto noble material such as finely worked gold or platinum.

The exhibition showcases the meticulous craftsmanship and the painstaking process that result in exceptional timepieces and high jewellery, the latter including red carpet pieces for the Cannes Film Festival.
