Circus lovers looking for an extra special seasonal holiday should head down to Singapore, with "The Great Circus Of Europe" from the UK bringing its jaw-dropping carnival of creativity to the island city in a couple of weeks.

From Dec 20 until Jan 1, the Big Top will be set up at the Bayfront Event space at Marina Bay and feature a stellar cast of circus performers from across Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia performing heart-stopping stunts with a touch of comedy and laughter.

Audiences will be awed by the sheer flexibility of contortionist Prince Amiri "The Bone Crusher", bop along to the exuberant choreography of the The London Showgirls and have a good laugh at the antics of Clown Andreea.

Colombian daredevils The Gerlings will attempt the dangerous Double Space Wheel, where four acrobats will perform stunts inside and outside pods at the ends of two giant rotating arms. They will also race around the inside of the iron mesh globe known as the Thunderdome at 70kph. In another death-defying act, The Skyriders will ride their motorbikes along a 15mm-wide wire suspended a full 7m in the air. Further enthralling aerial displays will be provided by The Survivors, one of Europe's greatest casting and catching acts, as they put on a heart-racing performance with acrobats executing precise and near-impossible choreographed manoeuvres while flying through the air.

The Serik Brothers will astound with a series of spectacular acrobatics while suspended 13m off the ground; Duo Nava will enrapture with their riveting aerial ballet display. Keeping the adrenalin pumping will be the high-energy routines of The Athumani Warriors and The High Rollers.

The 90-minute extravaganza will run daily at 4pm and 7.30pm, with a 1.30pm matinee on the weekend as well as on Christmas and New Year's Day. There will also be a special 10pm show on New Year's Eve. Ticket prices range from S$70-150 (1,560-3,350 baht). They can be purchased via bit.ly/ringo-sg.
