K-Pop superstar BTS will release its new album Map of the Soul: 7 on Feb 21, its agency Big Hit Entertainment Co announced at the group’s global fan community BTS Weverse.

The upcoming album is the sequel to Map of the Soul: Persona released in April 2019.

In an interview upon receiving Variety’s Group of the Year award in December, RM of the K-pop icon, disclosed the members were “currently working on new music and new album and can’t wait to share them” with fans in the near future, Pulse reported.

Its previous album Map of the Soul: Persona sold more than 3.69 million copies, the highest sales record for the Gaon Music Chart since the Korea Music Content Association compiled the chart in 2011.

The album debuted at the No.1 on the Billboard 200, and still remained on the chart at No.148 as of Tuesday. It was the group’s third No.1 album on the Billboard 200 chart after it had topped the chart for the first time in June 2018 with Love Yourself: Tear and again in September with Love Yourself: Answer.

The group also performed at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020 in New York City on Dec 31 for the New Year’s countdown in Times Square.
