The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya presents the "Beauty Of The Baroque" concert in the Ballroom of Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, Ratchadamri Road, on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Featured in the third classical concert by the RBSO will be two accomplished violinists -- Bing Han from China and Chot Buasuwan from Thailand -- in a programme of three pieces of beautiful baroque music.

The evening will open with Brandenburg Concerto No.3 In G Major by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was written in 1721 as part of a series of six compositions. The Brandenburg Concertos are widely thought to be some of the best orchestral compositions of the baroque era and Concerto No.3 is a favourite of audiences around the world.

Next in the programme will be Bach's Concerto For Two Violins In D Minor, which has been hailed as an excellent example of a late baroque piece. It will highlight the two guest violinists and the expressive relationship between the two.

The concert will conclude with The Four Seasons, the best known of Antonio Vivaldi's work. It was a revolution in musical conception as Vivaldi represented flowing creeks, singing birds, a shepherd and his barking dog, buzzing flies, storms, drunken dancers, hunting parties from both the hunter and prey point of view, frozen landscapes, and warm winter fires.

Tickets cost 500 baht (half price for students and those over 60) and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major outlets (visit thaiticketmajor.com or call 02-262-3456).
