Rocking at 250, Siam Sinfonietta to honour Beethoven
Opera Siam presents a stirring evening of classical music performed by the Siam Sinfonietta under the baton of Somtow Sucharitkul, in the Ballroom of Banyan Tree Hotel, Sathon Road, on Saturday at 7pm.
The programme will feature Eroica Symphony, one of Beethoven's most celebrated works; the Thai premiere of Haydn's Little Organ Massquot and Stravinsky's Symphonies Of Wind Instruments, with the Calliope Chamber Choir and soprano Barbara Zion.
The concert is part of the official "BTHVN 2020 Project" celebrating 250 years of Beethoven around the world. Siam Sinfonietta and other youth ensembles will be playing all of Beethoven's most celebrated symphonies over the coming year.
In-person audiences will be limited for the event, though it will also be streamed either live or a recording will be shared within a few days. A cash bar will feature one of Banyan Tree's talented mixologists with cocktails and other refreshments available from 6pm.
Tickets cost 500 and 800 baht. Guests can use their ticket to receive a 20% discount from any of the hotel's restaurants or take advantage of its special staycation offer and many other perks.
