Alliance Francaise Bangkok is holding "An Evening Of Rock'n'Roll" featuring a book launch and a rock concert on Thursday at 6.30pm.

The evening will start with a presentation of La Discographie Idéale De Rock & Folk by Christophe Chommeloux, the editor-in-chief of the magazine L'Art De Vivre In Thailand, who penned the book on behalf of the French magazine Rock & Folk.

He will talk about his book that includes 150 essential album reviews, touch on his passion for music, answer questions and sign books. The book presentation will be conducted in French and English.

Set to complete the event with a gig will be Midnight Ramblers, a Bangkok-based rock band dedicated to the music of The Rolling Stones, one of the greatest rock bands in history whose music has withstood the test of time and varied over the years in accordance with passing trends and musical influences.

The book will be launched on Dec 3. (Alliance Francaise)

The sextet features Eric Brown, who claims to have been practising Mick Jagger's moves since he was 12 as the frontman. On guitars are Joe Cummings, a journalist and pre-eminent author of the Lonely Planet guides on Southeast Asia and Ian Taylor, an intrepid traveller and photographer.

The rhythm section is anchored by Arne Osterberg from Norway, who beats the drums like Thor, and Cameron Cooper, a professionally trained bassist from Canada and also from Farang Magazine fame. On saxophone is the sweet-sounding Mark Delafleur, the band's other Franco-American.

Tickets cost 150 baht. Visit afthailande.org/en/ event-en/?eventId=1421 or facebook.com/events/2750368285218406.
