Free K-pop concert starts off New Year
Fans of K-pop will start the New Year with joy as SM Entertainment, one of the largest music labels in South Korea, will present a free online concert, "SM Town Live: Culture Humanity", tomorrow starting at 11am (Thailand time).
This is a very special show being organised to convey a message of hope to people around the world who are encountering difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will comprise of pre-recorded performances by many of the label's top bands as well as rookies.
The impressive line-up includes Kangta, TVXQ!, Super Junior, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, Shinee's Taemin, Exo's Baekhyun, Exo's Kai, Red Velvet, NCT, Super M, Aespa, Ginjo, Imlay and Raiden.
Fans around the world can watch the concert from their rooms remotely at no cost through various platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and Naver V Live's Beyond Live Channel.
The concert will be organised in an omnibus format to present diverse music and performances under the same theme, enhanced by augmented reality, special effects and graphics, delivering a front-row experience to audiences.
Viewers can expect to hear the latest singles from their favourite singers such as Burn The Floor by Super Junior, What Do I Call You by Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and Amusement Park by EXO's Baekhyun.
In order to protect K-pop performers from the novel coronavirus and follow health and safety rules in South Korea, all performances were recorded safely beforehand.
