Come see the beauty of love through art
After his first exhibition of oil-on-canvas paintings showcased his long-lost passion for romanticism last year, businessman-turned-artist Kraisak Chirachaisakul makes a comeback to the art scene with "Friends", which is running at Kalwit Studio & Gallery until Feb 28.
This time, he brings 12 printmaking artworks that present a perspective on love and friendship between two women, using lines of the prints to portray the feelings, desires, gentleness, romance and beauty of women.
For him, each line on the prints offers a feeling of stability, simplicity and relaxation. Even the clutter of lines he employed to create the beautiful pictures is comparable to the emotion and feeling of a relationship that expresses the elements of love in various forms.
Kraisak specialises in printmaking, mezzotint and drypoint. Known in many countries for his technique of overlapping the layers of colour, he began by creating a single mold and a complex four-colour mold overlapping trench print. This is apparent in the line's rhythmic and smooth works in which the artist determines the direction, weight and colour to create a special detail in the image itself.
Kalwit Studio & Gallery is on Ruamrudee 2, Witthayu Road, and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
