Art enthusiasts in Thailand and around the world are invited to explore and experience Southeast Asian art right from the comfort of their homes during the "Singapore Art Week 2021", which is presented in a complementary blended format for the first time from today to Jan 30.

Going beyond the confines of the physical into the digital space, the ninth edition of the island's annual festival brings a diverse range of works to everyone and everywhere -- Singapore's arts and cultural institutions, private galleries, non-profit arts organisations, independent artists and curators.

Focusing on the theme "Art Takes Over", this year's celebration features more than 100 events involving more than 300 artists and curators from Singapore, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, the UK and the US.

Myriad digital offerings are available from the Singapore Art Week Digital page that supplements the physical programmes. A notable highlight on the website will be the 360-degree view function that allows visitors to explore virtual exhibitions in new and experiential ways.

They will also witness how Singaporean artists experiment with new technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality in order to present art and creations in a fresh and innovative manner in time of the pandemic.

Here are some highlights of the digital programmes that are available from artweek.sg/saw-digital.
