Iconsiam has turned its riverside space, River Park, into a summer kite playground for families to come and fly kites or simply watch, with shows every Friday to Sunday evening from 4pm to 8pm, until April 18.
Each weekend will see spectacular shows featuring inflatable kites of various shapes, including a whale, manta ray, seahorse and unicorn as well as stack kites with up to 150 kites on the same row, quad-line sport kites, and dual-line sport kites.
They will be flown by Thaitan, a professional team that won first place at the fifth Uiseong International Kite Festival in South Korea, as well as a number of kite-flying experts including Theera Petchkaew, a renowned flyer of both quad-line stunt kites and dual-line stunt kites; Noppadol Kongsuwan, a flyer of dual-line stunt kites; and Chalermpol Suksawat, a stunt-kite flyer.
Kites of various kinds and shapes are available for sale including octopus kites made of ripstop nylon fabric imported from New Zealand, snake kites, fish kites, eagle kites and Thai kites.
Many kite-flying experts will be there to give guidance so that everyone can enjoy flying their kites against the beautiful backdrop of the Chao Phraya River.
Anyone who spends 300 baht within Iconsiam will be entitled to join a kite-designing workshop, free of charge.
