Last year, Alexandre Benjamin Navet began transforming Van Cleef & Arpels' boutiques in various cities around the world. The French multi-disciplinary artist has reinterpreted a floral theme for a blooming pop-up boutique in Bangkok.

Located on Siam Paragon's M Floor until June 30, the immersive space aims to make visitors feel like wandering through an open sketchbook portraying an imaginary garden with pastel renderings of flowers.

Illustrating nature's vitality, the motifs recall Thailand's sacred and symbolic flowers.

"Thailand is such a gem. I was inspired by the fresh and vibrant colours of nature. Lotus, cassia, orchideas, exotic flowers… very colourful and impressive flowers," said the award-winning artist, who employs different techniques such as oil pastels and Japanese watercolour.

At the crossroads of art, illustration, design and architecture, his works bring fresh and vibrant colour surging into space while engaging directly with the viewer.

Navet also created an animated blossom for an IG filter for this latest project with Van Cleef & Arpels, which has long celebrated the ephemeral beauty of flowers, such as the daisy, rose, peony and violet.

Founded in 1906, the Paris-based maison creates fine jewellery with figurative or more stylised designs.

Highlights on display at the pop-up boutique include a new collection of Frivole pieces in rose gold.

Launched in 2003, the Frivole is characterised by its graphic yet airy aesthetic with heart-shaped petals, made of mirror-polished or pavé-set gold, playing on light and reflections.

The open work through the perforation of the gold structure allows light to pass through the diamonds to enhance the luminosity of the earrings, bracelet and pendant.

A between-the finger ring brings two different-sized flowers together around an open band. Their subtly inclined corollas and split-level positioning catch the light, which plays from one petal to another.

The selection of stones, from a single diamond set in the heart of a corolla to the round diamonds paved on the delicate petals, were selected to meet the most stringent criteria such as in colour and clarity.

The beauty of the Frivole creations is further celebrated through a series of short films, including A Colorful Field, by Navet.
