Interested Thai students from grade 4 to undergraduate level are invited to enter the "Thai Art And Literature Contest Year 15" to vie for royal trophies and scholarships worth more than 1.4 million baht.

Organised by Intouch Holdings, the art contest is an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and creativity through visual art based on their favourite pieces of literature under one of two themes -- "High Morale Creates Great Power" and "Giving Satisfaction To Both Givers And Receivers".

They are free to use any techniques and mediums in their artwork -- be it oil, watercolour, poster paint, tempera, crayon, chalk or coloured pencil. However, no digital retouch is allowed.

Sizes of the artworks should be 40cm by 60cm for students from Prathom 4 to Matthayom 3; 80cm by 100cm for high-school students; and 150cm by 180cm for undergraduates.

In addition to displaying their talent through various forms of art, the contestants should depict a sense of sharing encouragement and helping others in the midst of the current crisis with the hope that it will be resolved soon.

Sitting on the judging panel are several national artists and big names in the Thai art and literature community including Chalermchai Kositpipat, Panya Vijinthanasarn, Sangkom Thongmee, Sathianpong Wannapok, Khunying Wimon Siriphaibun (widely known by her pen name of Thomayantri), Naovarat Pongpaiboon and Tawatchai Somkong.

The submission deadline is Oct 15. More details are available on intouchstation.com.
