Similar to the inaugural competition last year, there are six age categories -- Kid A (born in or after 2015), Kid B (born 2013-2014), Junior A (born 2011-2012), Junior B (born 2009-2010), Youth A (born 2006-2008) and Youth B (2001-2005).

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, this year's final round will be online and the performances will be judged via submitted videos. The video should be recorded by a single camera without editing and the body, heads and foot pedal should clearly be in the frame. Also, the sound must be clear and free of background noise. It should be uploaded to YouTube with the privacy set to "unlisted".

The jury will consist of renowned international artists and pedagogues who will give constructive comments to the winners. The first, second and third prize winners of each category will receive a cash prize and a trophy. There are also gold, silver and bronze prizes offering certificates and medals.

Applications should be made online via icmcompetition.com by Oct 24. The fee is US$95 (2,800 baht) for each category. The final round will be streamed live via YouTube from Nov 28-30 and the winners will be announced on Nov 30.
