This is a solo art show by Ekasit Rayubsang who has held shows in remembrance of Thai kings in numerous previous exhibitions. He is reputed for using dermatograph pencils to express a powerful balance of light and emotion on canvas.

This time around, he focuses on King Rama IX's tangible qualities -- patience, persistence, diligence and honesty -- that inspired the artist to develop a collection of 10 oil and acrylic paintings that not only portray the late king as "father" to the nation but also a symbol of loving-kindness and light that has guided us all.

For Ekasit, who conveyed his feelings of loyalty to the late king in his two previous shows at this gallery in 2017 and 2019, this exhibition is to remind viewers that King Rama IX will always be loved and respected and hold a place deep in the hearts of Thai citizens forever.

Number 1 Gallery is on Silom 21 and opens Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm. The exhibition is open by appointment only.
