See all the spooktacular flicks on Netflix

What better way to celebrate another long weekend than with some frightfully fangtastic Netflix binge-watching? This Halloween, grab all your favourite treats and get cozy under the covers as you tune into a spooktacular selection of shows.

MUST WATCH

The School For Good and Evil / Streaming now

There are two sides to every story, and some might say three. Best friends Sophie and Agatha find their bond put to the test when they're whisked away to a magical school for future fairy-tale heroes and villains. Forget Harry Potter, this is a school for grown-ups where the costumes are magical and the cast is an A-list of stars. Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Michelle Yeoh and Laurence Fishburne play the school’s best and worst. Adapted from Soman Chainani’s best-selling YA fantasy series, the film is apparently “a very different animal” compared to the book…. In the author’s words, not ours.

Wendell & Wild / Premieres on Oct 28

Raising hell is how we would describe this spooky animated movie, co-written by director Henry Selick and Jordan Peele. Peele also stars in this stop-motion adventure about two demon brothers who escape the Underworld, along with Keegan-Michael Key. Watch it for the kind of mayhem you’d expect from a children’s dark horror-comedy.

TRICK OR TREAT

Waffles + Mochi’s Restaurant / Streaming now

After sprinkling their nutritional literacy in season 1, ‘Waffle + Mochi’s Restaurant’ embarks on a world tour to dig up food cultures on their magical flying cart. The puppet duo calls in on chefs, measuring recipes and unearthing lesser-known facts of some of our favourite foods. The six-episode series also guest stars the former US first lady Michelle Obama, playing the role of Mrs. O. Feast on flavours from all over the world!

Oni: Thunder God’s Tale / Premieres on Oct 21

Created by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Daisuke ‘Dice’ Tsutsumi, the series is about the world with Japanese mythological oddball gods and monsters. One of the creatures’ free-spirited daughters, Onari, is determined to follow the footsteps of the mighty heroes of lore, but her unique powers are yet to be revealed. Does she have what it takes to fight to protect her peaceful village from the encroaching threat of the gods’ mysterious enemies, the ‘Oni’? Watch to find out!

Daniel Spellbound / Premieres on Oct 27

The animated series is a fantastical story set in modern-day New York City, the only difference being that magic is real — but hidden from the public. The story follows a teen tracker who follows his late father's footsteps to uncover a conspiracy in the magical world.

THRILLS & CHILLS

Dead End: Paranormal Park Season 2 / Streaming now

The animated kids series is getting a second ride and is based on the graphic novel, ‘DeadEndia’. Barney, Norma and friends are now the park’s official demon clean-up crew, but are they ready to take a break and just be normal teens? Not after encountering a slew of strange new creatures, from angels to evil twins to an army of deranged Pauline Phoenix dolls.

The Curse Of Bridge Hollow / Streaming now

A father (Marlon Wayans) and his teenage daughter (Priah Ferguson) are forced to team up and save their town after an ancient and mischievous spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and wreak havoc.
