River City Bangkok invites everyone to step into the universe of Warbie, a mischievous yellow bird that is loved by many around the world, during "It's Me, Warbie! The Inside World Of Warbie Yama", running at RCB Galleria 2, until Jan 25.

This is the first official exhibition of the charming character from the award-winning short animation, Cheez…z (2008) and the widely-used Line sticker collection created by Arut Tantasirin, a Thai animator with an Emmy award nomination to his name.

Warbie is a cheeky, yellow bird and Yama is a kind man. The two protagonists made appearances at many film festivals and art museums around the world.

The amusing and inspiring exhibition is divided into nine zones, each revealing a different aspect of the Warbie Yama universe and also Arut's less-known personal artistic journey.

With colourful designs and heartwarming stories, it will transport visitors into a world of whimsy and wonder, where they will rediscover their own inner child.

They will be greeted with Warbie Yama's Line stickers and introduced to all of the characters in the Warbie Yama comic world in the first zone. Then, they will step into a time machine and be transported back to Arut's years as a student, pursuing a master's degree in the US.

This was when he got the idea for his short animation Cheez…z, in the crossing of a childhood memory of a yellow little bird with his wanderings through Japantown in San Francisco.

Also showcased are artworks by 10 international multi-disciplinary artists from Korea, Japan, America, Taiwan, as well as Thailand's own Balloon Boy (Pod Moderndog) and Jung Yansu, who have all created works of painting, design and music inspired by the Warbie Yama characters they adore. The last zone is a screening room where Warbie Yama's animations are shown on the big screen.

Tickets cost 290 baht (190 baht for students and seniors) and are available from ticketmelon.com and zipeventapp.com.
