True Digital Park unveils immersive art show in three phases

True Digital Park reveals four artworks at the Gate Immersive Theatre exhibition, being held on the first floor at True Digital Park West until March 15.

The show, a collab between True Digital Park and Topos Studio from South Korea, combines virtual reality and art in four outstanding artworks.

Dr Tarit Nimmanwudipong, True Digital Park (TDPK)'s general manager, said the venue is a good fit for the show as TDPK is a hub for start-ups and has a community mall to meet the needs of young professionals.

Immersive art may sound like a cliche these days but Daegyeom Heo, CEO of Topos Studio, promised that "the projection technology on a vast space will allow visitors to lose themselves in artwork completely”. According to him, it'll be the first time that We Are The Primitives Of A New Era by the late Aldo Tambellini will be on display.

Topos Studio is an art hub delivered through virtual reality, augment reality and mixed reality, and is a platform for art experimentation through collaboration between artists, engineers and scholars.

For those who've never experienced immersive digital art, it'll be a new way to appreciate art. An empty room will work as a canvas for a visual projection while light and sound components complement the experience further. Visitors are in the middle of the artwork as interact with it, literally.

The following four artworks will be on display in three phases at The Gate Immersive Theatre. Please note the different display periods.

We Are The Primitives Of A New Era and The Hommage To Space Odyssey (2022) are on display until Jan 14. The latter is a homage to Stanley Kubrick's film 2002: A Space Odyssey and is complemented by Sprach Zarathustra, a composition by Richard Strauss, to deliver a galactic feel.

Vortex (2022) is on display from Jan 15 to Feb 14, and is anamorphic art is created by Wizziewick Studios, a South Korean firm specialising in motion graphics.

The Future Is Fungi (2021) will run from Feb 15 to Mar 15. It'll be a colourful forest filled with tall trees and mycelium and they will move to music.

You can enjoy all of them for free from 11am-7pm at True Digital Park West on the first floor. True Digital Park is easily accessible through BTS Punnawithi.
