Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini is a timeless opera that has captivated audiences worldwide for over 120 years. The main cast of nine, hailing from the Vienna Opera Production, includes stars Viktorija Miškūnaitė and Gianluca Terranova, supporting actors and a Thai choir, bringing the total number of performers to over 40.
The costumes and sets have been exquisitely designed and created by the Sirivannavari label under the visionary leadership of Princess Sirivannavari, who serves as creative director. A total of 14 costumes designed by the Princess will adorn the main characters, while the brand's design team has crafted the remaining costumes for the supporting performers.
Adding a unique touch to this production, Princess Sirivannavari has designed a new scene. This innovative addition, created in collaboration with the Vienna Opera Production team, will be accompanied by the enchanting music of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra conducted by the esteemed German maestro Valentin Egel.
Madama Butterfly is a poignant opera that tells a story of love, honour and dignity between a Japanese geisha and a young American sailor. First performed at the La Scala Opera House in Milan, Italy, in 1904, it remains one of the top 10 most popular operas in the world.
