Art lovers are invited to explore creativity in transforming ordinary flowers into divine blessings at "Dhevi Leela Malee", which is running on Level 3 of Central: The Original Store, Charoen Krung Road, until Sept 1.

This is a wonderful display of 45 floral paintings by Assoc Prof Rapee Leelasiri, also known as Rapee Leela, whose skill in capturing the divine blessings and joy of flowers will take viewers to explore their world and experience pure and eternal beauty.

Rapee crafted each piece using her signature palette knife techniques and meticulously captured the intricate details of every petal and leaf.

Each of her artwork symbolises purity, elegance and divine blessings through an array of flowers, with vibrant colours seamlessly blending the artist's imagination and expression. Some works feature rare flowers that symbolise divine blessings across different cultures.

Her masterpiece for this show depicts seven goddesses sprinkling various auspicious flowers upon the viewers. The flowers include roses, peonies, sunflowers, Indian lotuses, Jongkolnee lotuses, tree jasmine flowers, water hyacinth flowers, pomegranate flowers, egg magnolias, queen's wreath flowers, champak flowers, chrysanthemums, Cattleya orchids and many more.

Rapee is an expert in applied art design and the development of handicraft products and also the founder of Rapee Leela, a hand-woven carpet brand which features products made from natural materials. She's currently a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Thammasat University.
