Kinds Of Kindness

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.

Who’s in it?

Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons and Willem Dafoe.

What’s it about?

A man seeks to break free from his predetermined path, a cop questions his wife's demeanour after her return from a supposed drowning and a woman searches for an extraordinary individual prophesied to become a renowned spiritual guide.

Why watch it?

“Everybody's looking for something”. 


Wiman Nam (The Paradise Of Thorns)

Directed by Naruebet “Boss” Kuno.

Who’s in it?

Jeff Satur, Engfa Waraha and Pongsakorn Mettarikanon.

What’s it about?

Thongkam and Sek, a gay couple, have worked tirelessly to build a life together, including owning a house and a durian orchard in Mae Hong Son. Tragedy strikes when Sek dies, revealing that they were never legally married in Thailand and leaving Thongkam with no rights to their assets. The house and orchard now belong to Sek's mother, who moves in with her adopted daughter and gardener. Thongkam must now fight to reclaim the fruits of his love and labour.

Why watch it?

The debut feature of director-writer Boss. The movie debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival or TIFF, which said, “As with the durian flowers that need an extra touch to pollinate, it’s imperative to build the right foundations to bear fruit. Thailand’s recently passed same-sex marriage bill — the first in Southeast Asia — is hopefully the first of many. 'The Paradise Of Thorns' is a testament to the long struggle ahead.” 


Blink Twice

Directed by Zoë Kravitz.

Who’s in it?

Naomi Ackie, Channing Tatum and Alia Shawkat.

What’s it about?

When tech billionaire Slater King meets cocktail waitress Frida at his fundraising gala, he invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. As strange things start to happen, Frida questions her reality.

Why watch it?

Kravitz's directorial debut.


Gekijô-ban Blue Lock -Episode Nagi (Blue Lock: Episode Nagi)

Directed by Shunsuke Ishikawa.

Who’s in it?

The voices of Nobunaga Shimazaki, Yuma Uchida and Kazuyuki Okitsu.

What’s it about?

Seishiro Nagi, a lazy high school sophomore whose catchphrase is “annoying", is discovered to have a talent for soccer by his classmate Reo Mikage, who dreams of winning the World Cup, and is invited to start playing soccer. After demonstrating his overwhelming soccer talent, Seishiro receives an invitation to the Blue Lock Project. There, he meets strikers from all over the country, including Kiyoyoichi, Hachiraku Mawaru and Itoshi Rin.

Why watch it?

A spin-off from Blue Lock with references to other animes, including Jujutsu Kaisen and Dragonball Z.


Quỷ cẩu (Crimson Snout)

Directed by Luu Thanh Luan.

Vân Dung, Mie and Hanh Thuy Ngo Pham.

What’s it about?

The return of Nam and his girlfriend Xuan brings countless troubles to the family. He gradually discovers the broken relationships of the family members.

Why watch it?

A Vietnamese horror film.  


The Crow

Directed by Rupert Sanders.

Who’s in it?

Bill Skarsgård, FKA Twigs and Danny Huston.

What’s it about?

Soulmates Eric Draven and Shelly Webster are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.

Why watch it?

A modern reimagining of the 1994 cult classic, starring Brandon Lee, and the original graphic novel by James O’Barr.
