'Laughter is the best cosmetic." So says beauty brand Benefit, and its products, featuring whimsical names like BADgal BANG!, Gogo Tint, and Watt's Up!, certainly tend to bring a smile to the faces of make-up junkies.

Continuing with this lighthearted approach, the brand offers two new "beaming" beauty products, with a motif that smiles back at you. Going by the name Hello Happy, they encourage the user to maintain positivity.

The complexion products, Flawless Brightening Foundation and Velvet Powder Foundation, were recently launched at Paragon department store's Beauty Hall, where shoppers were invited to check out which shade of the medium-coverage liquid foundation matched their skin.

The brightening effect is due to flower acids and photochromic pigments while skin hydration is boosted by hyaluronic acid featured in the new formula.

Available in 10 shades for Asian skin tones, the liquid make-up can be set by the Hello Happy Velvet Powder Foundation, which contains shea butter extract. Applying the powder, with its natural matte finish, using the brush results in a light coverage, while the sponge achieves a medium or full coverage.

The American brand was founded in San Francisco in 1976 by twins Jean and Jane Ford, who were models that had to do their own make-up. Understanding how complicated a process applying cosmetics could be, they decided to create practical beauty solutions, housed in playful packaging to make them fun to use.

Second-generation Maggie and Annie Ford Danielson have joined their mother and aunt in delivering laughter through fun and funky beauty products like Hello Happy.
