Joys of married life

DJ Paranyu "Tack'' Rojanavudtitham is cementing his reputation for making big decisions on the spur of the moment after last week declaring he was parting from the mother of his four-month-old child, only to delete the post an hour later when they had made up again.

Tack, a well-known Romeo, stunned his fans in January with his lightning wedding to Adira "Bell" Engtrakul, a woman he had seen secretly for several years.

Last week, on their first public outing together at an event to promote organic nappies, in which they also brought along for public show their young son Parun for the first time, the pair looked glum and had to be kept apart by their nanny.

After speaking to the media, but while still sitting at the event, Tack fired off an Instagram post in which he declared he was leaving his wife. "We have spoken about it now. We will still be in our capacity as father and mother looking after our child," he wrote.

Earlier, he gave a hint that all was not well with Bell when he let slip to reporters: "All families have problems but however we end up fixing them ... we do everything for our child."

Tack, also an actor, added his fans were probably surprised to see a "wild boy" such as himself at such an event, but says the organisers invited him and he took the work to help pay for his son's milk and nappies.

The new father said he was nervous about exposing Parun to crowds and germs, admitting he prefers to keep the child at home as much as he can. Their nanny helps look after the child in the morning and at night, freeing him up to focus on work, said Tack.

Reporters noticed Tack's dramatic post and approached him at the function, but he declined comment as he and his wife left separately. Shortly before deleting it, he posted a picture of his son asleep, adding: "No matter what happens, I love my son and there's no way I'd leave him ... we will help look after you, no matter whether it's dad or mum," he wrote.

Bell later responded on Facebook, putting up no great resistance to the idea they might have to part. "You have that right, and I have never said a thing. I am fine. Please, don't worry about us," she told fans.

Later Tack, having second thoughts, declared it was back to "situation normal", adding such dramas teach us "who is who" and adding he would learn from the episode. Contacted that evening, his manager said Tack and Bell were together with their son and back on good terms.

He said Tack and his wife had argued and he had fired off the post in a rash moment without thinking through the consequences. His manager said he had ticked off Tack and told him next time to keep such matters indoors.

Tack's father, Somchai, also chimed in with some pithy advice, declaring he had a "lightning" son: "He had a lightning wedding, split on a whim, got back together on a whim. If I had another child called Lightning it might be a good thing. If you are alone, be wary of your thoughts. If you are in society, beware of social media. Whatever you do, you should think about it first," he said.

Tack, 34, and Bell wed in January while she was five months' pregnant with their child with only the parents from both sides and a monk present at the ceremony. Tack later apologised for misleading the women he dated while secretly seeing the woman he was to take as his wife.

Bell, who is involved in events management, is a cousin of businessman Sanchai "Peck" Engtrakul, the husband of actress and TV presenter Tanyaret "Tanya" Engtrakul. Tanya said at the time she did not know Bell was seeing Tack until Peck's uncle got in touch to say the pair planned to wed. She said the pair were unusual and appear at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Happy to wear hacker label

Actress Tanchanok "Patricia" Good has passed up a second opportunity to deny she was behind leaked Instagram messages maligning her former boyfriend, actor and businessman Pachara "Peach" Chirathivat.

Patricia has weathered a social media storm after admitting she was more than just casual friends with a socialite whom netizens earlier claimed acted as a third hand, breaking up her relationship with Peach. In further fall-out from the saga, Peach earlier this month complained to Technology Crime Suppression Division police after his IG account was hacked and chats in which he vows to teach Patricia a "lesson" after their relationship foundered were posted online.

The hacker, who left a lengthy screed in response criticising Peach for ungentlemanly conduct, posted the leaked chat to the IG accounts of both Peach and Patricia. The posts were up just a short time, but long enough for alert netizens to copy them to social media.

The hacker cited Peach's remarks before the media last month when he tearily confirmed that he and Patricia were now apart. The hacker complained Peach's remarks were portrayed as heroic defence of her virtue when really he had decided to hang her out to dry.

Peach, an heir to the Central Group fortune, was asked about the couple's two-year relationship after leaked images emerged of Patricia having dinner with millionaire socialite Vises "Note" Rangsisingpipat. The images set tongues wagging that Note had broken up their pairing, a claim he denied.

Peach has since complained to the police about the hacking attack, declaring he would not resile from legal action even if it turned out the culprit turned out to be someone close to him. "Whoever does such a thing has no good intentions. We shouldn't let bad people get off scot free," he said.

Last week, as reporters caught up with Patricia at a function, the actress apoologised for fleeing furtively at her last outing when reporters asked about the hacking claims. "I felt as if my moods were swinging and I was not in control of myself. I felt as I had to get myself out of there and save myself first."

Asked if she had anything to say to allay suspicions she hacked Peach's IG, the actress replied, "I don't want to say anything," as one of her handlers helpfully interrupted, saying the actress was due at another function and would have to wrap up her comments. She denied she was worried, and when asked directly if she had done it, offered a wai and fled the scene. Police are investigating the complaint.

Swollen eye spectacle

Country music singer View Chatchawan is appealing to food vendors to take more care of what they put in their products after he came down with a swollen eye and growth in his cheek, which doctors suspect was caused by an allergic reaction to something he ate.

View, also known as Thongrob Pramong, from the R Siam label, underwent an operation last week to relieve the symptoms. Images posted on social media showed View connected to a saline tube, the right side of his face dramatically disfigured and a gauze over his right eye.

View said he went for an outing on Sept 2 to Bang Saen beach where he ordered four dishes of a seafood favourite, horseshoe crab eggs.

He started to feel dizzy and came down with stomach pain and diarrhoea.

The next morning he found a growth in his cheek and admitted himself to a hospital in Bangkok after his condition failed to improve.

"Doctors decided it was a reaction of some sort. I have never suffered an ailment like this before and will avoid those eggs as they probably contained some toxic substance, though I have eaten that crab since I was a child and it never caused any problems," he said.

In an early social media post, View slammed seaside vendors for putting formalin in their products, as he suspected preservatives were to blame.

He later softened his remarks, appealing to them to study the substances they can and cannot add to food. "I also want officials to take a look at the food to see what substances are mixed in there, as in worst cases someone might die," he said, adding that by late last week his condition was starting to improve.
