To mark Father's Day on Thursday, King Power Mahanakhon, the tallest skyscraper on the east side of the Chao Phraya River, has good news for Thai dads: free entry to its rooftop observation deck.

A short walk from BTS Chong Nonsi, the tower features the Mahanakhon SkyWalk on its 78th floor. The highest point, the Peak, is 314m above street level. From such a height, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree vista of the city as far as the eye can see. The observation deck also features a zone with a glass floor for brave visitors to face their fear of heights.

Normally, tickets for the Mahanakhon SkyWalk cost 880 baht for adults and 250 baht for over-60s as well as children aged 3-12 years old (entry is free for those under three). On Father's Day, dads who wish to avail themselves of this special offer must be accompanied by at least one child.

If you wish to make this year's Father's Day even more special, the Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar on the 76th floor (dress code applies) has special offers for the occasion during lunchtime and dinnertime. During dinner, the legendary Suntaraporn Band will give a live performance at the bar.
