K-Joy concert incoming

K-pop enthusiasts will get the chance to start the Year of the Rat with their favourite acts, who are flying in from South Korea to perform in Bangkok on Jan 12.

A collaboration between SM True, OOKBEE, Me.jai, DO81, Search (Live) and Do Concert, the "K-Joy Music Festival 2020" will see five popular acts -- Exo-SC, NCT Dream, Kim Dong Han, The Boyz and Elris -- share the stage at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani from 7pm.

Headliner Exo-SC is a hip hop subunit of top K-pop group Exo, comprising the band's two main rappers, Sehun and Chanyeol. Thanks to their global fan base, their debut EP What A Life reached number one on iTunes in 46 countries.

NCT Dream is a subunit of NCT, a boy band with 21 members at the latest count. The sextet gave two sold-out shows in Bangkok earlier this month, impressing Thai fans with their strong stage presence and range. One of their most viewed tracks on YouTube, Boom, is a catchy slice of synth pop, while their latest track, Pretty Much Up to You, is a retro dance song.

Following his appearance on I Can See Your Voice Thailand in August, singer Donghan has already gained a reputation as a great entertainer. He has further demonstrated his powerful singing voice and acting chops playing the lead role in the musical Iron Mask, which is currently running in Seoul until January. Fans can expect to see him perform his popular numbers Focus and Good Night Kiss.

Thanks to their distinctive personalities, 11-member outfit The Boyz will surely grab attentions from fans with their acts for popular vibrant singles -- D.D.D and Bloom Bloom.

The opening act will be Elris, who last year won Best Rookie Group at the Korean Entertainment Arts Awards. The quintet have all that you would expect from a K-pop girl group, from cute personalities to lively performances. Prepare to sing along to Summer Dream and Pow Pow.
