A group of 30 restaurant owners, food suppliers and logistics start-ups in Bangkok and suburban areas have teamed up to launch "Food For Fighters" to help hospital staff who are under pressure and overworked at this critical time.

This crowdfunding project is initiated by Pen Lao restaurant owner and conservationist Panchana Wattanasathien, a key partner of the United Nations for Development Programme-supported Tiger Journey alliance connecting the dots among like-minded social entrepreneurs to save the tigers and nature.

As the lockdown is ongoing, the alliance formed the flash collaboration aiming to supply up to 3,000 lunchboxes of fresh food per day for medical staff at Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Phramongkutklao Hospital and Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok; Thammasat Hospital in Pathum Thani; and Pak Chong Nana in Nakhon Ratchasima province. The project will soon be launched in Chiang Mai.

The project can also save restaurant employees from losing their jobs and much-needed daily wage. Each lunchbox includes food and drinks and costs about 50 baht (including delivery services). With the target of 3,000 sets a day for distribution, this means the project needs at least 150,000 baht in funding per day or 4.5 million baht per month.

To contribute to the project, donation can be made through money transfer to Kasikornbank account name Panchana Wattanasathien (savings account), account number 003-29167-24.
