It's baking in Bangkok

Les Sucrés by Rose invites pastry and cake lovers to the "Minimal Cafe Desserts Workshop" which will take place at its cake studio in Thong Lor (Sukhumvit 55) on Saturday and again on Sunday, from 10am to 4pm.

Conducted in Thai by Khru Dear from AmoBlu Pasticceria, the one-day workshop will present five different recipes of Korean-style cake that will look good and taste even better.

Students will learn to prepare soufflé pancake with cheese cream and mango coulis sphere, a molecular baking creation topped with what looks like a fried egg; savoury castella cake that goes well with fried egg and bacon as a perfect breakfast or snack; and sandwich cake which will make you forget the typical breads stuffed with vegetables as it is actually a sweet cake that comes with both fresh cream and fruits.

To complement the feel of a minimal cafe, the class will also show how to create an easy menu of maple caramel custard as well as burnt cheesecake, a hot recipe that is completely flour-free.
