If you've never had one of those fluffy French omelettes, also known as soufflé omelettes, then Vivin Grocery is the place to try one.

The grocery shop recently turned into a "grocerant" (grocery + restaurant) and offers a substantial menu for brunch, lunch or dinner. Though you could do an afternoon of wine and cheese or an apero, as well.

"From shelf to plate", breakfast at Vivin Grocerant is served from 8am-6pm and includes the fluffy omelettes made with free-range eggs. The omelettes range from the Classic (B220) to the Three cheese (B290), with cheese from local producers: Huay Bong tomme de vache from Chiang Rai, Le Doi Pao Swiss style from Chiang Mai and Molene camembert style from Chiang Mai; and Goat cheese (B290), which uses goat cheese from Chiang Mai. All soufflé omelettes are served with an organic green salad and a vinaigrette dressing.

If you're a burger person, try the Blue cheese burger (B380) made with Tha Sai Blue, Stilton-style cheese from Chiang Rai, a Thai-Charolais (wet aged for 21 days in Nakhon Pathom) 150g-beef patty, an artisanal bun, seared onion, tomato, lettuce, dill pickle, fleur de sel and Kampot pepper. There is also a choice of steak at affordable prices, with plenty of sides to choose from. End the meal with the signature Tropézienne tart (180) or "La Tarte de Saint-Tropez", which is a brioche filled with diplomat cream. Fun Fact: It was created in 1955 by Alexandre Micka, a pâtisserie owner in Saint-Tropez and was named by actress Brigitte Bardot while filming And God Created Woman.

To wash all the above down, there is well-stocked wine cellar or Thai coffee, tea and healthy juices.
