Two young rising chefs, Monthep "Thep" Kamolsilp and Chudaree "Tam" Debhakam, will transform a bounty of incredible and delicious hyper-local ingredients into a seven-course tasting menu for the "TAAN x Baan Tepa Urban Farm Dinner" at TAAN, 5th floor of Siam@Siam Design Hotel, Rama I Road, on Friday.

This is a cooking collaboration between Tam, owner of Baan Tepa, an innovative sustainable restaurant, and TAAN's executive chef Thep, who is passionate when it comes to sourcing the best local ingredients.

Rising to fame by being the first winner of the Top Chef Thailand television series, chef Tam has experience in cooking in six different cuisines and is also a strong advocate of food waste reduction after having served as the Chef Ambassador for Thai Harvest/SOS and UNEP campaigns from 2015-2017.

Since its opening last year, her communal single-table restaurant has caused a buzz when it comes to cooking using herbs and vegetables mostly grown in an on-site urban garden.

With her background in farm-driven cuisine combined with her knowledge in nutrition, the 27-year-old's cooking focuses on responsibly grown and sourced local produce and dishes blending traditional Thai flavours and modern flair.

The special dinner will celebrate sustainable ingredients sourced mainly in and around Bangkok, with exclusively Thai ingredients in the menu that features produce sourced right here in the capital such as coconut from Bang Krachao and fresh herbs plucked straight from Baan Tepa's garden

Other urban farms that will be showcased include Uncle Ree's Organic Farm in Phetkasem and Vinai Urban Farming Learning Centre in Bang Ramat.

The dinner is priced at 3,600 baht per person and is available at two seatings -- 5.30pm and 8.30pm.
