VIVIN Grocerant (a portmanteau merger of “grocery” and “restaurant”) now presents the many splendours of Thai artisanal, natural and organic produce not only to take home but also to be enjoyed “from shelf to plate” in house-made dishes for breakfast, lunch, apero, amd dinner.
Since starting out in farmers' markets six years ago, co-founder Nicolas Vivin has earned the VIVIN brand a reputation for showcasing and purveying remarkable collections of deeply delicious Thai cheeses, cold cuts and charcuteries.
More recently, VIVIN developed an artisanal sandwich range and Apero Box (cheese and/or cold cuts platter selection) for eat-in and delivery. On top of this, it has launched its first “Grocerant” menu but unlike supermarket grocerants there are no pre-prepared meals in banquet trays or wilting salads in display bowls.
Highlights include Normandy-style free-range egg ‘fluffy omelettes', ranging classic to three cheeses, goat cheese, and shallot. Optional sides include pork lardons/potatoes and seasonal vegetables/pesto.
Plus Thai bean coffees and bakeries such as croissants, baguettes and loaves. Not to mention breakfast bowls of granola, yogurt and seasonal organic fruit.
Artisanal sandwiches are available in 20cm or 40cm size. Also featured are French home-style burgers including Classic Burger with Le Doi Pao Cheese, Molene Cheese Burger, and Thai Sai Blue Cheese Sauce Burger. Lyonnaise salad is piled high with organic greens, crispy lardons, poached egg and vinaigrette.
After-work and weekend experiences revolve around aperitifs with APERO Cheese and/or Cold Cuts Platter and biodynamic wines. For something more substantial, go for the bronze cut pasta varieties with beef ragout or various steaks with house-made Kampot Pepper, Hilltribe Chili, Tha Sai Blue Cheese or Butter Jus sauce. Conclude on a high note with free-range egg Caramel Egg Custard or Chocolate Mousse. Watch out for weekly specials like Tropezienne tart. Breakfast & Lunch combo sets are also available as are vegetarian options such as goat cheese or grilled halloumi salad and vegan pasta with 7 varieties of organic tomatoes sauce.
