Mongkol Cinema is teaming up with Major Cineplex, SF Cinema and House Samyan to screen five movies directed by Wong Kar-wai -- an acclaimed film director from Hong Kong -- at "The World Of Wong Kar-wai's Retrospective Festival".

Wong Kar-wai's movies are celebrated for recreating an atmosphere of loneliness and isolation, visual sensibility and memorable music. The five movies -- In The Mood For Love, Happy Together, Fallen Angels, 2046 and Chungking Express -- have been remastered in 4K for better quality.

In The Mood For Love (2000) Starts screening from Oct 29

Journalist Chow Mo-wan (Tony Leung) and a secretary Su Li-zhen (Maggie Cheung) move into a rented apartment on the same day. They both are married but they have lost the spark. Due to their loneliness, Chow and Su both develop forbidden relationships.

Happy Together (1997) Starts screening from Nov 12

Ho Po-wing (Leslie Cheung) and his boyfriend Lai Yiu-fai (Tony Leung) travel from Hong Kong to Argentina in order to see the Iguazu Falls together. However, after arriving in Argentina, their on-and-off relationship becomes worse and after Lai meets a young Taiwanese guy, Chang (Chang Chen), things will never be the same again.

Fallen Angels (1995) Starts screening from Nov 26 Hitman Wong Chi-ming (Leon Lai) feels connected with his mystery female agent and He Zhiwu (Takeshi Kaneshiro) is a deaf man who falls in love with a blonde woman. Unfortunately, she can't get over her ex-boyfriend.

2046 (2004) Starts screening from Dec 10 The movie tells the story of journalist and womaniser Chow Mo-wan (Tony Leung), hotel room number 2046, and the four women in his life.

Chungking Express (1994) Starts screening from Dec 24

Cop 223 (Takeshi Kaneshiro) and Cop 663 (Tony Leung) have broken hearts and continue living with memories of their girlfriends. However, love comes when they least expect it.
