Since 1989, Harry Winston jewellery house has built a reputation for fine watchmaking, firstly by the launch of The Premiere collection.

The opening of watchmaking facilities in 2007 further demonstrated its passion for haute horlogerie, which is nurtured at the manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, in the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland.

Under The Premiere collection, the latest timepieces are inspired by the Ultimate Kaleidoscope objet d'art created in the 1990s.

The tubular timetelling pendant was hailed as a miniature masterpiece with a fully functioning kaleidoscope that recreated the magical reflections and changing patterns of a childhood toy.

The hypnotising profusion of colours and patterns has been transferred to the dials of the new Premier Kaleidoscope Automatic 36mm models.

Harry Winston's craftsmen exalt the the delicate and iridescent qualities of mother-of-pearl with fresh hues, shapes and patterns for the striking dials. What may appear to be precious gemstones are actually intricately crafted nacre sculptures.

The dark blue version plays with blue, pink, turquoise and green tones. To create the mesmerising dial, its 18ct gold base is first layered with white mother-of-pearl.

Next, a geometric lace, in the same material, is placed on top. Extremely delicate, this lacy blue appliqué comes from a single piece of nacre, which demands meticulous handling.

Pink, turquoise and green cabochons, crafted from thick pieces of mother-of-pearl, emulate the shine of precious gemstones, while 70 brilliant-cut diamonds light up the dial.

The layers of shimmering beaded mother-of-pearl and raised cabochons together add volume and depth to the dial of the Premier Kaleidoscope Automatic 36mm.

The exquisite model has also been crafted in versions with orange, red and light blue tones while boasting Harry Winston signature codes

Blue, for example, recalls the legendary Hope Diamond acquired by Harry Winston in 1949. The Premier case and its diamond-set lugs are inspired by the arched entrance to the brand's Fifth Avenue flagship salon.

The quintessential jewellery house was founded in New York City in 1932 by legendary gemologist Harry Winston, aka The King of Diamonds and Jeweller to the Stars.

The heritage in sourcing precious stones is embodied in two versions of Premier Precious Kaleidoscope Automatic 36mm, each limited to five pieces.

The white gold version features an intense dark blue appliqué of mother-of-pearl and semiprecious gemstones.

Turquoise and malachite, cut into pear and marquise-shaped cabochons, appear in striking blue and green shades. Blue beaded mother-of-pearl cabochons, electric-blue Paraiba tourmalines, green marquise-cut emeralds, pear- and brilliant-diamonds enhance the watch's colourful face.

Likewise, a rich combination of shapes, colours and textures enliven the dial of the rose gold version, whose dizzying array of intense hues is set against a yellow nacre backdrop.

The dial is adorned with citrine, blue and white mother-of-pearl cabochons, carnelian, marquise-cut orange spessartites, pear-cut diamonds, fiery-red marquise-cut rubies, brilliant-cut green tsavorites, elongated baguette-cut diamonds and a flurry of brilliant-cut diamonds.

The Premier Kaleidoscope models are powered by a Swiss mechanical automatic movement featuring a flat silicon balance spring, while providing a power reserve of 72 hours. The movement and its rose gold skeletonised rotor with refined finishes are revealed through the sapphire crystal caseback.

Gemstones in vibrant and harmonising hues further mingle in high-jewellery pendants under the Winston Kaleidoscope Collection. They are masterfully set in symmetrical patterns, to evoke the magical images captured through the lens of a kaleidoscope.

The central stones range from aquamarines and red rubellites to green tsavorites and purple sapphires that are complemented by brilliant diamonds and coordinating side stones.

Drawing emphasis to the brilliance of each colourful gem, the pieces are set with unparalleled precision and engineered using a minimum amount of metal, in order to maximise the sparkle, scintillation and overall beauty of the individual stones.
