Yves Rocher's Botanical Beauty concept covers hair and scalp, which require as much attention as skin.

Besides shampoos and conditioners, scrubs, serums and masks are also part of the routine in order to replenish hair with nourishing elements.

Based in La Gacilly, Brittany, the French brand has added rinsing vinegars and Universal Botanical Hair Balm to the regimen in order to optimise haircare.

At the Yves Rocher research centre, a multidisciplinary team of scientific experts works on finding and isolating plant-based active ingredients for each hair concern.

At the heart of the formulation is agave fructans extract, which, along with a scalp massage, helps stimulate microcirculation for healthy hair. The botanical extract is obtained from organically-grown agave, whose principle photosynthetic products is fructans.

Each formula then features a particular plant extract, such as white lupin, moringa seed, or nettle for the stimulating, anti-pollution and purifying shampoos and conditioners.

Moringa seed, nettle and raspberry extract are respectively the key ingredients in Refresh, Purity and Shine rinsing vinegar, applied before the last rinse. Yves Rocher claims that it eliminates more pollutants than when rinsing with only water.

A natural fermentation process gives the rinsing vinegars a pH level and acidity that neutralises water's alkalinity. Other benefits include sealing hair cuticles to help keep strands in a good condition.

Damaged hair is treated with jojoba oil, rich in omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids.

Organic jojoba oil is a key component of the Repair Balm Shampoo and Detangling Balm Conditioner as well as the new Universal Botanical Hair Balm, which can be used as a day or night treatment as well as prior to blow-drying and for touch-ups and frizz control.
