Weezer returns with virtual show

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Apparently, Covid-19 is still here and probably won't go away anytime soon. So be glad, music lovers, as online and virtual concerts are still the only way to see our favourite musicians and artists play live.

Fortunately, American alternative rock band Weezer have broken their silence and decided to provide something special for their audience during the pandemic, with a one-off livestream event titled "Weezer With YOLA: Live From Walt Disney Concert Hall", to celebrate their recently released 14th album, OK Human. The band has also invited special guests from the LA Philharmonic and Youth Orchestra Los Angeles to join them for this concert. For any die-hard fan, this is an exciting chance to see a unique collaboration as OK Human is the first time the band has featured a full orchestra.

The virtual concert will take place on Saturday, April 17, at 8am (Bangkok time) and will be streamed live from the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Expect to see the band play tunes from OK Human, as well as a fair amount of classic Weezer cuts. There will also be a limited run of VIP tickets that includes a 30-minute Q&A with the band immediately following the concert.

"We invite each and every one of you to stare at your screens while we perform OK Human for the first time ever (along with all your favourite Weezer songs)," the band wrote on Instagram.

"Get ready for a night of streaming images (and sounds) to your head," the group added.

The orchestral and acoustic-driven album OK Human was released in January. It includes the lead single All My Favorite Songs. Weezer will release another album with a hard rock influence -- Van Weezer -- on May 7.

Tickets are US$20 (630 baht) and on sale now along with exclusive OK Human and show merchandise. Visit nocapshows.com/artist?name=weezer.
