To fortify frontline healthcare workers and local communities against the Covid-19 pandemic, Michelin Guide Thailand has joined hands with 25 Michelin-star, Bib Gourmand and Michelin Plate awarded restaurants to launch the Red Spoon campaign, which will provide special culinary options in Bangkok and its vicinity throughout the month.

Every order includes two charges -- one for personal consumption and the other for gifts to medical personnel or needy families. Customers who purchase a minimum of 650 baht in a single order will receive a complimentary copy of The Michelin Guide Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Phang-Nga 2021, worth 650 baht.

Among the participating restaurants is the one Michelin-starred restaurant Khao with its gaeng rawaeng, turmeric curry with coconut milk and chicken thigh, packed with fragrant and flavourful spices.

Tum chana, a spicy noodle salad with pickled fish sauce and a variety of toppings such as preserved pork sausage, pineapple roasted pork, water mimosa, squid tentacles, bamboo shoots and sweet corn, is served at Phed Phed Bistro, which has won a Bib Gourmand award.

The Michelin Plate restaurant Aesop serves chargrilled chicken, kofta souvlaki, pork souvlaki, grilled veggies, basmati rice and pita bread as part of its Signature Aesop's Mixed Grill.

At the same time, chef Thitid Tassanakajohn of the Michelin Plate Baan restaurant presents stir-fried ground pork with organic chillies and sweet basil, paired with fried duck egg and rice. He also serves tofu with egg over rice as a meat-free option, adapted from Chinese-style meals his grandma cooked for him as a kid.

Customers can go to Polo Fried Chicken for its fried chicken, sticky rice and som tam, while Tonkin Annam, a Michelin Plate Vietnamese restaurant, serves bánh cun noodle rolls with minced pork, spring noodles and nuoc cham fish sauce.

At the Bib Gourmand 100 Mahaseth restaurant, chef Chalee Kader creates a set menu for sharing, including som tam, khao ngiew (northern-style rice with pig blood and ngiew broth), prickly ash fried chicken with elephant ear plant relish, grilled pork jowl and his signature grilled nhaem chicken wings, as well as three dipping sauces.
