Yves Saint Laurent Beauté has been offering couture cosmetics for over decades. Its young, edgy and luxurious image is reinforced by a new retail space concept.
The luxury is represented by the black and white marble that previously permeated the interior design of Saint Laurent boutiques and now the new cosmetic counter at Central Lardprao.
Last month, Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Thailand premiered the architectural upgrade, combining the marble look with gold-silver stripe lines. Cosmetic counters in other countries, beginning with China, will also get a marble makeover with zoning for fragrance, make-up and skincare products.
The first fragrance Y was launched in 1964, three years after legendary couturier Yves Saint Laurent founded his eponymous fashion house in Paris. Rive Gauche, Pour Homme and Opium were then released in the 1970s.
The fragrance zone features the classics, the latest woody Y Le Parfum for men, Libre EDP and EDT as well as the Mon Paris collection for women.
The fashion designer's vision of beauty materialised as a cosmetics collection and he dressed women's lips in vibrant shades with YSL Rouge Pur Couture.
Lip products now provide different textures and finishes, such as YSL Tatouage Couture, a highly-pigmented matte stain, and the new Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Velvet Radical, a semi-matte lipstick with a velvet finish.
Other iconic items in the make-up zone include YSL Touche Éclat illuminating concealer pen, Couture Eye Liner and Le Cushion Encre de Peau.
The third zone is dedicated to the skincare collections, from YSL Pure Shots for overworked skin caused by an urban lifestyle to Or Rouge featuring ingredients from saffron dubbed Red Gold. The French brand actually grows its own plants, such as saffron, cacti, marigold and walnut, at its Ourika Gardens in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains.
At the skincare zone, the YSL Urban Skin Check is a quick five-minute diagnosis before tailoring a suitable skincare routine to address concerns.
