This year, the long-running "Book Expo Thailand", which is held every October, will allow bookworms to enjoy special discounts on their favourite books when making a purchase online and in-person at more than 550 bookshops nationwide.

The 26th edition of the "Hybrid Book Fair 2021", organised by the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (Pubat), will kick off tomorrow and run until Oct 31.

The fair will present all genres of books, new and old, and more than 650 new titles, from 177 printing houses, as well as feature special discounts and exclusive giveaways.

This year will feature the first collaboration with four major bookstore chains -- Se-Ed, Nai In, B2S and Chula Book Center which have more than 500 branches -- and over 50 independent bookshops from across the country. They will be offering 10% to 30% discounts, plus souvenirs and gifts for walk-in visitors.

Participating independent bookshops include Candide Books, Fathom Bookspace, A Book with No Name and many more.

Books also can be purchased online 24 hours a day via ThaiBookFair.com, JD Central, Lazada, Shopee, and directly from the official websites of participating printing houses. Special promotions will vary depending on each platform.

This year's theme, "An Oak, Thieng Dai", aims to promote literacy, reading, fact-finding, analytical thinking, critical thinking and constructive discussion. This is the inspiration for many activities to be presented live mainly via Facebook: Thai Book Fair and Zoom.

Included will be talks and seminars by Pubat and many publishing houses, with topics on books, reading and hot social issues; book launches; meet and greet with authors; as well as mini-concerts by musicians and guest authors.

Expect to enjoy a "Flash Sale" that will feature a minimum 30% discount and a "Wow Price" promotion offering books priced less than 100 baht, via ThaiBookFair.com.
