The three-day Winter Garden at Sansiri Backyard event kicks-off today, set on a 15 rai organic plantation within T77 Community in On Nut 1/1, off Sukhumvit 77.
Ever since it was launched a few years ago, the event has been well received by urban families -- local and expats -- who come to enjoy a wintry street fair vibe amid great botanical surroundings.
The fair this year, a collaboration between Sansiri, the real estate developer, and Häagen-Dazs, a world-class ice cream brand, is conceptualised with the theme "Freeze The Moment: Maximizing The Happiness".
It hence combines the much-awaited Christmas market spirit with an ice cream festival and music concerts.
Eventgoers will be greeted by the Twisted X'Mas Tree landmark before entering the pet-friendly fair that features many local food trucks, artisan vendors and arts and crafts on sale along with family-friendly workshops and activities.
There will also be a Häagen-Dazs ice cream truck giving away free ice cream to the first 100 visitors.
Children can enjoy playing with the backyard's newest members, a kid goat and little lambs, in the farm hopping and petting zoo area. There is also a small chicken coop where kids can collect fresh organic eggs.
Adults can pick fresh vegetables and fruit from the organic garden to take home or have a celebrity chef turn their pickings into delectable dishes during the event.
Sansiri Backyard is a co-growing space aimed at promoting sustainable urban living under the company's green mission. The project grows everything from corn to rice, salad greens, melons, mulberries, tomatoes and various other fruits. It is situated in the back of the 20 hectare T77 community that covers myriad upscale residential, lifestyle and retail premises.
