Three talented ladies from the NAO Trio will make a comeback to Neilson Hays Library, bringing along their special friend Hayne Kim to present a classical concert on Saturday at 6pm. The four ladies will perform again at Siam Society on March 15 at 7pm.

This is another opportunity for music lovers to take delight in the experience of appreciating the beauty and richness of combined sounds and complementary harmonies to be rendered through two musical pieces.

The evening programme will start with String Quartet No.13 by Franz Schubert. Often nicknamed Rosamunde, the four-movement piece was written in early 1824 before the Austrian composer largely turned away from writing songs in order to concentrate on chamber music.

The other piece will be String Quartet No.2 In D Major by Russian composer Alexander Borodin. It was written in 1881 in dedication to his wife Ekaterina Protopova. Some scholars suggest that the quartet was a 20th anniversary gift, evoking the couple's first meeting in Heidelberg, a university town in Germany.

The NAO Trio comprises Noa Chorin on cello, and Anna Takeda and Omporn Kowintha, both on violin. They have a collective experience that spans the globe from Bangkok to Berlin and beyond through performances with various chamber music groups. Nao also happens to be a popular female name in Japanese meaning harmony.

Joining the trio will be Hayne Kim, a Korean-American violinist who made her solo Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 16 and has since performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician.

As an ensemble player, she has performed in some of New York City's most beloved halls, such as Merkin Hall and Stern Auditorium, with groups such as the Shattered Glass Ensemble and the International Chamber Soloists.

Tickets cost 800 baht (700 baht for library members and 450 baht for students) for the March 12 concert; and 800 baht (600 baht for members and 200 baht for students) for the March 15 show. No tickets will be available at the door.
